The Ghost LP is one of the most fabulous UK psych/prog albums. This Birmingham
band featured guitarist Paul Eastment, previously in The Velvett Fogg.
The album, originally released back in 1970 on the Gemini label in the
UK and in 1971 on Exit/Ekipo records in Spain, is one step ahead psychedelia
entering the realm of prog music, yet retaining an atmospheric mind expanding
feel through it all. Loads of Hammond organ swirls, pyrotechnical guitar
licks, beautiful accoustic guitar parts, and avobe it all killer vocal arrangements,
with the special attraction of Shirley Kent's beautiful tone (Shirley would
later move on to record the "Fresh Out" LP as Virginia Tree).

El LP de The Ghost es uno de los más fabulosos discos de la escena
psych / prog inglesa. Originaria de Birmingham, contaba en sus filas con
Paul Eastment, guitarrista de The Velvett Fogg.
Originalmente editado en 1970 por el sello Gemini en el Reino Unido y
por Exit/Ekipo en 1971 en España, este álbum representa un
paso adelante más allá de la psicodelia para adentrarse en
el terreno del rock progresivo, aunque manteniendo todavía una atmosfera
expansiva a lo largo de los surcos. Torbellinos de órgano Hammond,
pirótecnicos riffs de guitarra, deliciosas partes de guitarra acústica
y, por encima de todo ello, fenomenales arreglos vocales, con la especial

EMTIDI are best remembered nowadays for their classic album "Saat," but
prior to that release the duo formed by Maik Hirschfeldt and Dolly Holmes
had already released a marvellous LP. This superb debut album is filled with
charming folk oriented material. 6, 7 and 12 string accoustic guitars and
beautiful flute arrangements surround the lovely female/male duet voices
of Hirschfeldt and his Canadian partenaire Holmes, making this album a pleasure
for the listener, a nice piece for the collector and a source of good taste
influences for the young musicians into today's new folk scene. Yes : this
LP will give satisfaction not only to kraut-rock collectors, but also to
all those into old folk gods like Pentangle, Vasthi Bunyan, Bridget St. John,
Book Of Am... Plus to all those into the Devendra Banhart, Espers, Circulus...
sounds!
Sung in English, it was recorded in July 1970 and originally released
on the Thorofon label, who issued a very short run, thus making it one of
those rarity items so valued by record collectors, with the addition that
for this time the music lives up to the expectations of its market price
value!
"Emtidi were the forerunners of what could be named krautfolk; that is:
the effort to create a true german folk movement, with a cosmic, avant-garde
aim. Dolly and Maik formed a mysterious, unusual duet, with English lyrics
that were either plenty of hippie mysticism at times as they were of parody
at others. Although "Saat" is their most known record, "Emtidi" already
showed the group's personality keys: orirism, hallucinated vocals and an

A EMTIDI se les recuerda principalmente por su clásico "Saat",
pero anteriormente el dúo formado por Maik Hirschfelt y Dolly Holmes
había editado este maravilloso LP. Este soberbio debut viene cargado
de encantadores sonidos folk. Guitarras acústicas de 6, 7 y 12 cuerdas
y preciosos arreglos de flauta arropan las voces masculina y femenina del
dúo formado por Hirschfeldt y su socia, canadiense de origen, Holmes,
y hacen de este álbum un placer para el oyente, una interesante pieza
para el coleccionista y una fuente de inspiración para los jóvenes
músicos de la escena neo-folk actual. Sí, a parte de los seguidores
de la escena kraut-rock, este disco hara las delicias de los amantes de
los discos de Pentangle, Vashti Bunyan, Bridget St. John, Book Of Am...
Y también de los aficionados a sonidos de la escena neo-folk actual,

Cantado en inglés, las canciones fueron grabadas en julio de 1970
y se editaron en el sello Thorofon, que realizó un pequeño
prensaje del álbum, convirtiéndose así en una de esas
rarezas tan buscadas por los coleccionistas de discos, con el añadido
de que en este caso la música responde a las expectativas que levanta
el alto precio de un original en el mercado de colección.
"Emtidi fueron el máximo exponente de lo que podríamos
denominar krautfolk, es decir, el intento de crear un movimiento folk auténticamente
alemán con vocación cósmica y vanguardista. Además,
Dolly y Maik formaron un dúo especialmente misterioso e inusual,
con unas letras en inglés que tanto se dejaban llevar por el misticismo
hippie como lo parodiaban. Aunque "Saat" sea su disco más conocido,
en "Emtidi" ya aparecen todas las claves del grupo: onirismo, voces alucinadas,

from 1971. Great West Coast influenced guitar sounds, progressive Hammond
grooves, nice soft pop vocal harmonies (reminiscent of CSN&Y), and

LP of the band originally released on the Palobal label from Barcelona.
This LP and two 45s, including the mega rare non LP single "Toma tu parte

Odyssey Enterprise's "Sad and Lonely", makes original copies raise up to
the 500 / 600 euros tag among mod/garage/freakbeat DJs and collectors, were
their only releases under the Mi Generación name (although the band

Hey, here's some great news : we have reached an agreement for
the reissue in vinyl format of the glorious second LP by this killer
Spanish hard prog psychedelic band !!!
INTENCIÓN, the sensational second LP recorded by Atila,
has never fetched the high amounts their debut album THE BEGINNING OF
THE END (Wah Wah LPS022) does exchange hands for in the collectors' market,
but it is still a mega rare LP hardly seen below the 400 euros tag, and
is considered by many to be better than their previous output. At the time
of recording this album, the band was already considered one of the top
stage acts from Spain, which led to their signing for the BASF label, where
they were allowed to a better production which not only resulted in a better
sound but also in a much more visually attractive full colour gatefold sleeve,
which the Wah Wah reissue will reproduce to perfection. Originally issued
in 1976, INTENCIÓN is the perfect follow-up to THE BEGINNING OF
THE END, with the band offering further pieces led by the strong guitar
licks by Eduardo Niebla, Benet Nogué's organ & Moog, and Joan
Punyet's drums melting in top progressive freakouts, plus the addition
of wordless vocal parts, adding a symphonic edge to the general sound.
Side A offers three killer tracks in that vein, while B side is a new recording
of the bands' signature theme EL PRINCIPIO DEL FIN, with updated overtones,
Moog passages and a much better recorded sound than the one appearing on
their debut LP.
The Wah Wah release will be housed in a full colour gatefold
sleeve reproduction of the original issue and with magically remastered
sound from the original master tapes, as usual improved by sound wizard
Denis Blackham @ SkyMastering, and then, of course, pressed in quality

Atila, la legendaria banda de música progresiva de Girona.
INTENCIÓN, el fantástico segundo LP grabado por
Atila nunca ha alcanzado las sumas que se pagan por su predecesor EL
PRINCIPIO DEL FIN, pero raramente se ve por debajo de los 400 euros
y para muchos es mejor que su primer LP. A la hora de realizar esta grabación
el grupo dispuso de mejores medios, tanto a nivel de producción
de sonido como a la hora de enfundar el disco en una preciosa portada
doble a todo color que la reedición de Wah Wah reproducirá
a la perfección. Originalmente editado en 1976 en el sello BASF,
INTENCIÓN ofrece más desarollos progresivos conducidos por
la fabulosa guitarra de Eduardo Niebla, el órgano y Moog de Benet
Nogué y la batería de Joan Punyet, con algunos pasajes
a los que añaden coros vocales, y dándole a la mezcla un
toque sinfónico. La cara A presenta tres nuevas composiciones
de la banda, mientras en la B una nueva versión del tema estrella

The Storm hailed from Sevilla and were acclaimed
by audiences and press reviewers as one of the best rock bands
from Spain. The combo was formed by the Ruiz Geniz brothers (Angel
and Diego, on guitar and drums respectively) plus Luis Genil
(organ) and José Torres (bass).
Their debut album, originally released on
Basf in 1974, is one of the Crown jewells of Spanish hard rock,
and changes hands for a small fortune among collectors all over
the world, especially since its inclusion in Hans Pokora's 'Record
Dreams' books.
This LP really rocks. It's high energy hard
rock that follows the line marked by the big organ outfits of
the era: Deep Purple, Atomic Rooster, Bram Stoker, Megatón,
a.o. It has also a deep classic prog sound root, which reaches
the top on 'Un Señor Llamado Fernández De Córdoba'.
We are talking of one of the seminal Spanish
hard rock LPs.

Wah Wah Records is proud to announce the reissue of
the recorded works by this amazing folk-with-popsike-jazz-and-even-bossa
UK band! Originally released on the Tangerine label, the Ora LP
was also issued in the German Metronome label as "Knick Knacks",
but gets its first vinyl reissue since it first came out on this 2LP
set. Record 1 will feature the original Ora LP as it was first issued
back in 1969, while record 2 is made up of previously unreleased in
vinyl format top quality material by the band and will include tracks
never issued before in any format that original band member James Rubinstein
had in his personal archive. 25 must-have songs for anyone interested
in UK folk/pop/psych ! !
It is an album of incredible beauty, recorded by some
talented young artists, Here is an extract from the original 1969
press release:
Jamie Rubinstein, 18, leader, lead vocalist and guitarist
with the group called ORA, wrote all the songs on their new LP.
He arranged most of them. While making the album Jamie was studing
for his GCE A Levels. This is the group's first release, a single
is being planned.
Jamie and Robin Sylvester, 18, who plays bass guitar,
piano, organ, and is co-arranger, are the main-stays of the four-piece
group. The others, lead guitarist Jon Weiss and drummer Julian Diggle,
are "floating" members. Jamie, Robin, and Julian had met at UCS (University
College School) in Hampstead.
The Wah Wah edition will be housed in a gatefold sleeve
that will respect the original artwork concept, graphically adapted
to this new issue following the directions of Ora leader James Rubinstein.
James himself signs the inner notes so you get an accurate first
person told history of the band who would later become the legendary
progressive rock group Byzantium.

and an R3 "extremely rare" qualification on Vernon Joyston's "The Tapestry
Of Delights", which means the Wah Wah 2LP set is definetely a very

LPS031 NICK GARRIE THE
NIGHTMARE OF J.B. STANISLAS (LP)

The fabulous singer-songwriter / popsike masterpiece
by Nick Garrie-Hamilton is reissued in vinyl format for the first
time ever since its very rare France-only release in 1969. A perfect
chance to get your hands on a high quality vinyl pressing without
having to pay the incredibly big amounts of money an original copy
changes hands for nowadays.
A musical delicatessen by this great Russian/Scotish,
French raised singer songwriter. This LP first came out in France
in 1969, under the production of Eddie Vartan, who managed to embody
Nick's perfect songs into an orchestration with several common points
to that in other great albums from the era coming from the UK (think
of Billy Nichols, Duncan Browne, Bill Fay...). Soon after the record
came out, the AZ's label owner commited suicide, the label resting orphan
and thus the release being unpromoted & undistributed sank in the
dust of time. One of its songs, "Wheel Of Fortune", was rescued back in
the Strange Things Are Happening days for its inclusion on a volume of
the legendary "Circus Days" compilations. Nick kept on releasing albums,
The "Suitcase Man" LP came in Spain in the eighties, and two more records
have been issued since then, "The Playing Fields" and "Twelve Old Songs",
but interest for his debut LP has grown in recent years among collectors
over the globe, an original copy fetching amounts moving between 600 and
1000 euros. We do believe this album is so good that it shouldn't be reserved
only to the few who can afford those numbers, so here is a perfect vinyl
reissue for the mere mortals like you and me!
The Wah Wah edition, issued under license from Nick
Garrie himself, comes with two bonus tracks taken from Nick's rare
pre-LP 45, issued in France in 1968. It has been master cut by Yann
Dub @ DK Mastering for a high quality sound pressing that will satisfy
the most exquisite audiophile, respects the original artwork and
comes with a small insert with annotations by Mr. Jon "Mojo" Mills,

We are proud to announce the reissue of the legendary
Book Of Am, a unique combination of recordings and artwork which
stands up as an enduring testament of the fertile hippie scene which
flourished in the Baleric islands during the seventies.
Known to record collectors and psych/folk/prog
music aficionados alike, this multicultural band formed in the
island of Mallorca in the mid 70’s recorded a beautiful (and outrageously
scarce) album which has gained cult status as years passed by.
The Book Of Am was originally devised as a beatifully
illustrated book focused on various world folklore and traditions,
coupled with 4 lp’s which would represent a musical
This 4-lp set would correspond to the four phases
of day (Dawn, Morning, Afternoon, Night)
Only the first of this records (Morning) would
eventually see the light of day in a tiny private pressing which
changes hands nowadays for obscene amounts of money. So now, alongside
the reissue of the original Book Of Am album we’re very proud to
present the first-ever release of the previously unissued Part II
of the Book Of Am, which leader Juan Arkotxa remastered recently from
the original master tapes.
Both albums will come in a lavish gatefold cover
which will feature as well a 112-page book reproducing the original
engravings by Juan Arkotxa, 64 of which are full color. Never
released back in the day due to it’s high production costs, now,
the central part of the Book Of Am, can finally see the light of day.
A round-the-worldtrip through the folklore, legends, lore and cosmogonies
of some of the world’s cultures, from ancient egypt to celtic traditions.

'BEGINNING OF THE END'

Often hailed as one the hard psych masterpieces
to come out from Spain in the early 70’s, "The Beginning Of The
End" was the vinyl debut of Atila, a trio formed in 1973 by Eduardo
Niebla -guitar- Joan Punyet -drums- y Francisco Ortega –keyboards-.
Originally released in 1975 by the obscure New Promotions label in
a alledged tiny pressing of 100 copies the album has reached "monster"
status between die-hard collectors worldwide, sometimes reaching the
1500€ tag.
An incredible progressive tour de force, the album
combined the typical classical leanings, fierce guitar leads
and dark keys all over in the best european tradition of the era
(think italian prog).
Another rarity which finally reaches a wider audience
thanks to Wah Wah in a well presented reissue that is completed
by two bonus tracks plus a 7" including two more extra tracks all
taken from contemporany sessions (actually same month as the album
recordings) which show the band delve into Pink Floyd-territory circa
More/Ummagumma (think Careful With That Axe, Eugene and you’ll be pretty
close).

WILLIAM S. FISCHER - AKELARRE LPS028 VINYL LP
Satanologysts, wizardologysts, specialists in various types
of palingenesis, famed talmudists and other studious of witchery agree
to the importance of music in the old akelarres. Having been burnt
some of our witches by the roman Inquisition, the others seeked for shelter
in their subterranean homes.
A fantastic world was formed then. Basque witches and sorcerers
prosecuted by Pierre de Lancre, alied with an old jewish gnome -who
claimed to be a cousin of Spinoza- did invoke the underground spirits
of black fugitive slaves who escaped from the razzias that our European
ancestors, in the name of civilization, took to Africa. (from Sorta’s original
liner notes)
Weird and obscure as they come... in 1972 arranger William
S. Fischer lands in the basque country and produces some funky reinterprations
of popular basque folklore songs and dances, all around the theme of
witchery and covens (Akelarre). As crazy and weird as it may sound, this
record is virtually unheard of in collector’s circles.
How the musical director for Atlantic Records and arranger
for Wilson Pickett, Roberta Flack, Eugene McDaniels, Les McCann ,
Herbie Mann and countless others got involved with this project is up
to everyone’s guess. However what he comes up with is really astounding,
a funky as hell workout which will get you screaming for more. Killer
go go psychedelic soul which defies categorisation: tight rhythm section,
open drum breaks, funky as hell guitar leads, groovy flute, weird electronic
sound effects and moog bits (most likely courtesy of Walter E. Sear,
who gets a mention in the original liners) alternate with more stylish
moments (think Terry Callier or blaxpotation soundtracks of the era like
Marvin Gaye's Troubleman) and even some fusion styled groovers.
Fans of his funky jazz rock cum electronics masterpiece "Circles"
(released by Embryo in 1970 and feaured on Mojo’s "50 Most Out There
Albums of All Time" list) won’t be deceived, for he shows here the same
masterful sense of groove and orchestration but in a more danceable,
not so avant-garde context. An unknown record that deserves to be brought
back to life in this limited reissue of 500 (five-hundred) copies. Get
it now or cry later...

LPS016 GUALBERTO
The first album by this mythical andalusian
multi-instrumentist, member of the legendary Smash, recorded
in 1971 in Barcelona (another nice example of the fertile conection
between the scenes in Seville and Barcelona at the beginning of
the seventies), it remained unreleased until 1978 (when it appeared
as one-part of the double lp "El Nacimiento Del Rock En Andalucía").
Rescued by Wah Wah thirty years after, the album shows Gualberto
in a phase of creative definition, half-way Smash’s powerful sound
and unique mix of psych & folk with some oriental touch (Gualberto’s
ubiquitous sitar and Jessica’s characteristic vocals) which will
became his trademark in forthcoming lp’s. ("A La Vida - Al Dolor",
"Vericuetos") . Without a doubt, one of the unknown treasures of Seville’s
early psych/prog scene...

Key duo from the catalan folk scene, result
of the union between Ia Clua (from "2+1") and Jordi Batiste (one
of the leading forces of Máquina! together with Enric
Herrera), after the later one’s return from military service.
"Un Gran Día".the duo’s first album, was recorded
at the end of 1972 with the help of such outstanding musicians
as Manel Joseph (ex "2+1", Ia’s early band)), Joaquín "Max"
Suñer (Vértice, Tapimán, Iceberg y a neverding
etc ) & Albert Batiste (Musica Dispersa).
The result is an amazing & varied musical
tapestry, best heard in the record’s first side, a long suite
covering from orchestral folk-pop with some psych leanings ("Un
Gran Día", "Max") to straight in-your-face hard rock ("Sleeping
Rock") via typical early 70’s prog rock ("Oliba") or uncathegorisable
experiments which defy all rules ("Reprise") and show perfectly
the freaky stage reached by the catalan scene in it’s early years (as
a matter of fact, the record is sung in english and catalan...).
A piece of wax which went totally unnoticed when first
released in a tiny pressing back in the days (thus becoming a
big ticket item in the collector’s market) and which Wah Wah rescues
from oblivion thirty years after it’s original release.
An excellent work which deserves to be discovered
by a wider public...

The Storm hailed from Sevilla and were acclaimed
by audiences and press reviewers as one of the best rock bands
from Spain. The combo was formed by the Ruiz Geniz brothers (Angel
and Diego, on guitar and drums respectively) plus Luis Genil (organ)
and José Torres (bass).
Their debut album, originally released on Basf
in 1974, is one of the Crown jewells of Spanish hard rock, and
changes hands for a small fortune among collectors all over the
world, especially since its inclusion in Hans Pokora's 'Record Dreams'
books.
This LP really rocks. It's high energy hard rock
that follows the line marked by the big organ outfits of the
era: Deep Purple, Atomic Rooster, Bram Stoker, Megatón,
a.o. It has also a deep classic prog sound root, which reaches the
top on 'Un Señor Llamado Fernández De Córdoba'.
We are talking of one of the seminal Spanish hard
rock LPs.
